Colorado Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence This site, by The University of Colorado at Boulder, documents a broad spectrum of violence in America. An excellent, and huge site, covering many areas of violence - causes, solutions, and existing programs, they offer the public "...complete and valuable information to impact violence-related policies, programs, and practices, CSPV works from a multi-disciplinary platform on the subject of violence and facilitates the building of bridges between the research community and the practitioners and policy makers."

A Press Release from the Harvard School of Public Health presents an excellent site for parents, educators, and social workers who find themselves trying to deal with violence and aggression in adolescents and teens.

Habits of Mind is a program instituted in Australia in 1992, it is just catching on in some Michigan Districts. The idea behind it is to integrate the development of positive decision-making into both the social and educational environment of the school. It seems to be catching on and appears promising in curbing the growing numbers of students on the fringes both socially and academically.

Center for Mental Health in Schools. This site is sponsored by the Mental Health Project, University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). Most resources are downloadable for free. The portal for downloadable resources is located at the Resources and Publications Page of the site. Preventing Violence in Our Schools. This site, offered by the University of Minnesota, is itself a huge list of sites that covers Advice for Parents and Teachers, Violence Prevention, Resources for Educators, Bullying Resources, and Circle of Support

This site provided by the Michigan State Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth - Includes articles and resources for encouraging Parent Involvement in Educational Reform, The Role of PArents in Dropout Prevention,Bullying Prevention, What Works in Schools (Translating Research into Action by Robert J. Marzano. Also provides help for parents, suggesting ways in which they can be involved in their child's education, and also specific sections targeting Hispanic Parents.
